Three things to think about:

THREE THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:

1. COWS,

2. THE CONSTITUTION, and

3. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

COWS

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that our government
can track a cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall
where she sleeps in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves
to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens
wandering around our country. Maybe we should give them all a cow.

THE CONSTITUTION

They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we
just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it's
worked for over 200 years and we're not using it anymore.

TEN COMMANDMENTS

The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a
courthouse........

You cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery"
and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and
politicians. It creates a hostile work environment!

Hi MM ...
For what it's worth ... without any "religious" overtones regarding the "Ten Commandments" ... Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy. You can work during the six weekdays and do all your tasks. But the seventh day is a Sabbath to God your Lord. Do not do anything that constitutes work. [This includes] you, your son, your daughter, your slave, your maid, your animal, and the foreigner in your gates. It was during the six weekdays that God made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. God therefore blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. ... So if the Supreme Court decides to toss the Ten Commandments, and governments legislate laws regarding their posting in public places ... does it not stand to reason that those anal-retentive souls suffering from severe cranial-rectal inversion should also be compelled to work on the Sabbath, should not be paid extra for working on the Sabbath, or for that matter any "holiday" that bears any connection to a religious affiliation?

Let's see ... Federal law (5 U.S.C. 6103) establishes the following public holidays for Federal employees. Please note that most Federal employees work on a Monday through Friday schedule. For these employees, when a holiday falls on a nonworkday -- Saturday or Sunday -- the holiday usually is observed on Monday (if the holiday falls on Sunday) or Friday (if the holiday falls on Saturday).

Monday, January 2* New Year's DaySince we've tossed the Ten Commandments, there's no reason for changing it to Monday or Friday if the actual New Years Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, since every day should be paid the same.
Monday, January 16 Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. Let's see we can cancel this one, since Martin Luther King, Jr. was a preacher first before he became a civil rights/human rights leader
Monday, February 20** Washington's Birthday
Monday, May 29 Memorial Day
Tuesday, July 4 Independence Day
Monday, September 4 Labor Day
Monday, October 9 Columbus Day Let's see we can cancel this one, after all didn't Columbus come to the Americas under the Spanish Flag of Ferdinand and Isabella and the church?
Friday, November 10*** Veterans Day
Thursday, November 23 Thanksgiving Day Let's see we can cancel this one, since it was obviously a religious observance of thanking God, the Creator, for the blessings the Pilgrims received and making it through those first years in a new land.
Monday, December 25 Christmas Day Let's see we can cancel this one, if we're gonna toss the Ten Commandments, then there is no need to celebrate the birth of Jesus of Nazareth.

Wow ... that's five federal holidays potentially eliminated. According to one report from the Census Bureau, that only covers state and local government workers, that's over 13,280,000 employees! That doesn't include federal workers or the military branches, or congressional members and staffers. If we didn't pay them holiday pay we could possibly balance the budget? ....lol

SE

P.S. .. before any one gets their shorts in a bunch, I'm joking here.

Hey MM. I’m happy to see that you are keeping a positive attitude and that you have made these changes in your life. Keep it up! Also Javi wasn’t clear in his entry. Cat doesn’t have a boyfriend. Seriously, Cat is really depressed right now. Just give her time and she will come around.

Take Care,

MA

Funny stuff.

If they found out cows were:

1) Voting Democratic;

2) Filling out W-4's and then not filing for their refund; and,

3) Buying enough Pampers and Gerber products to equal the GNP of a whole state;

they might curiously lose the ability to track them from Canada!

Native American Ten Commandments

---------------------------------------------

The Earth is our Mother, Care for Her.

Honor all your relations.

Open your heart and sould to the Great Spirit.

All life is Sacred; treat all beings with respect.

Take from the Earth what is needed and nothing more.

Do what needs to be done for the good of all.

Give constant thanks to the Great Spirit for each new day.

Speak the truth; but only of good in others.

Follow the rhythms of nature; rise and retire with the sun.

Enjoy life's journey, but leave no tracks.

MM: Australians enjoyed yet another public holiday on Mon 12 June, despite the fact that most Aussies could not give a stuff for the British Queen. BTW The Brit Queen Liz 2 born April 21 1926 was 80 years 7 weeks and two days old on her Aussie birthday on monday.

Do they have a atom bomb day in the USA, ie ist tested successfully July 16 1945? if
so, This blog author M M has one on that day July 16 too, also so do I.
